CG Social Gathering

We had our social gathering at Zhenghui and Renzi's new home @ Eunos. Pizza and chicken for food; Taboo, Jenga and Cranium for games. Great to have some new friends with us, Grace and Fuwei, as well as others, Ailin, Roy, Grace Dong and Hanqiang who joined us as well.

Wenxing & Peiyun's Wedding

Congratulations to the lovely couple, Wenxing & Peiyun! It was a wonderful time of celebration as we witness their joining together in holy matrimony. Praying for Mei Xuan

It was Mei Xuan's last Sunday with us as she was returning to UK for studies on Friday morning. Passed her a copy of the 40DOC book, to use the devotional guide and hopefully find the material useful in her QT and fellowship with other Christians in Holy Spirit Platt (her home church in Manchester). Spent some time to pray for her as a CG. Have a safe trip and blessed school year ahead, Mei Xuan!

CG Building Your Inner Life - Solitude & Silence

Started on a BS series on "Building Your Inner Life". Looked at the needful topic of "Solitude and Silence" today. Also went through the CG goals for the year, and spent time among buddies to share and pray through those goals. Here are the notes and powerpoint.

YA Captain's Ball 2 (We won 3rd prize!)

We came, we saw, we conquered! Well, 3rd prize, that is. Considering that we won 2 years ago, when our group was the youngest, and last year 4th (out of 6), this year's 3rd place out of 8 teams, us being the oldest group, is quite an achievement. Hooray! Our prize was a $40 Swenson's voucher, which we'll probably use for our Social Gathering on 29th Sep at Zhenghui and Renzi's place. Warm welcome to more new friends who came today, Calvin and Fuwei (+ Teck, Hanqiang, Grace and Qisi). A couple of us went for an early dinner at a nearby hawker centre after the tournament. "Da Vinci Code Deception" + Bdays

We had our session watching an interesting and educational documentary on the Da Vinci Code. Renzi shared her testimony, and Dave explained the gospel message. We had a good time of discussion, as people were able to raise questions and discuss them in a safe and neutral environment. We had some new friends who joined us, Keith, Mei Xuan, Qisi and Hanqiang. We also celebrated the birthdays of Heather, Yewya (and Abrie).

YA Captain's Ball - Round 1

The sun was out, the teams were ready, we had our first round of Captain's Ball last Sunday. It was hot, hot, hot! We sent in 2 teams, and despite being the oldest group around, we managed to do pretty well, winning quite a few matches. A big welcome to all our new friends who joined us, Andy, Hanqiang, Mei Xuan, Qisi, Teck and Grace.

Email update from Xinmin

Sorry for missing in action for such a long time. Has been busy lately with my work and the day-to-day stuffs.

Well, God has been good. I'm sorta settled down in my church in Perth, joined the young adults group and am currently serving in the music ministry. I have attached a picture of the young adults outing to Joondalup Mini-golf club. Was fun and thank God that I managed to bring a colleague to join us for that event as well.

Work has started to take its toil, not in terms of hours but handling of the Aussie Culture. However thank God for his guidance and I guess I have learnt not to concentrate so much on work but on building relationship with people around me. Am trying to reach out to 2 of my colleagues, one from Malaysia and one from Mauritius. Pray that I would be a good testimony to them. At the same time, am really encouraged that my ex-manager from Singapore has been going to church constantly. While she is open to the gospel, she is still in the midst of searching. Just pray for her that God will speak to her and that one day she will give her heart to our God and saviour.

With the more time on hand, I finally have time to read up on Christian literature, something that I have not done for a long.... time. Will update you guys when I have the chance.

That's all for now. Am really thankful for God's provision for our cell group at BCC. Pray that all of us will continue to work faithfully for God's ministry.

See you guys when I come back in December.

CG Practical Evangelism Training 1 + Birthdays!

We began our 2-part Practical Evangelism Training today, focusing on the first 2 of 4 skills - Hearing and Illuminating. Had a good time of interaction and discussion after the session. Spent time to share about and pray for our friends (to invite to Captain's Ball and DVC session). Celebrated birthdays of Amilyn (5th) and Hongmei (17th). Prayed for Hongmei too as she hurt her back whilst rollerblading last Wed, as well as her grandma who is experiencing coughing and pains. Pray for God's protection, comfort and healing.
