CNY Visitation - Zhenghui/Renzi's

Couple of us visited Zhenghui and Renzi's family on 3rd day of CNY. We had a short time of conversation over snacks.

CG CNY Dinner

Was a great time of food, fun and fellowship as we celebrated Chinese New Year as a CG. Glad that Isaac, David, Michael, Loong and Conrad could join us. We had traditional steamboat (+ bbq) and enjoyed a round of Guesstures which had everyone enjoying themselves with fun and laughter.

Vineyard Retreat

Almost 8-10 of us attended the Vineyard Retreat over the Fri-Sat weekend in church. It was a refreshing time of learning from God's Word and sharing and praying through the goals and direction for the new year. A couple of us went for dinner at Novena after the Sat session.

CG Prayer & Praise

4 of us got together for our first CG P&P this year, as most of the members were at the Vineyard Retreat. Abrie, Jason, Jeanie (new friend), and myself spent the time worshipping and praying through the church baseline prayer items. It was a truly anointed time of just coming before the Lord in the quietness of Rindu and waiting on Him as He moved us to pray. Really experienced God's abiding presence and peace with us that night.

CG Welcoming the New Year

We had our first CG gathering of the new year today. Wenxing led in a fun ice-breaker where we were to find out as much about each other in 10 min, and then we sent 1 rep on the chair, and we had to match answers to Wenxing's questions e.g. birthday, CCA in sec sch, fav verse, etc. The ladies won 8-7.

Guys Night Out - Dinner & Pool

Had our first Guys Night Out this evening. Met at Hotel Meridien for dinner then pool afterwards. Nice relaxing night just chatting and playing. Thanks guys for making the effort to come. Hope you enjoyed yourselves. Thanks Nat for organising too. Looking forward to our next outing.

Prayer & Praise (Jan) + Send-off for Lifen

Was a good time of hearing testimonies, and praying for the individuals and families of the church. A new friend, David, who walked into church looking to visit last week, joined us. Spent some time talking and praying with him.

A few of us also sent off Lifen at the airport this evening. She will be based at Sydney, Australia for the next 3 months for work training. Let's continue to pray for God's protection and blessings upon her as she settles into work and life down-under.

CG Retreat @ P.Ubin (30 Dec-1 Jan)

Wonderful time of bonding within the CG, a total of 20 of us attended the retreat that began on Friday at Rindu, and continued on Sat-Sun at P.Ubin. God protected us safely throughout the ferry rides and travels, the weather was pretty good (even the rains on Sat evening), and the environment and rooms were more than adequate for our needs.

Exciting news: Jason proposed to Lynnett at midnight on New Year's Eve and she accepted! Congrats and best wishes to you both!

CG Christmas Party @ Bishan Loft

Praise the Lord for a wonderful time of fun, food and fellowship at our CG Christmas Party. We had a great turn-out of 41, 25 CG members and 16 new friends. God deserves the glory! We had a good time of games (pictionary, gingerbread decor), some carolling, a Christmas skit and short sharing, awards ceremony, and gift exchange. Thanks to one and all for all their outstanding efforts in making this party a success!

Welcome back, Chee Kin!

Chee Kin, who was visiting our CG about a year back, arrived in Singapore on Sunday morning, and came by to Bartley for 1st service. Saw him after service, and we had a good time catching up for a while.

Joy also brought down a friend, who is currently a 1st year physio student in Perth, where Joy and Xinhong studied.

Let's continue to invite and welcome our new friends this festive season!

Advent Devotion + Dec birthdays

Today at CG we spent more time for worship, and did a short devotion on the Christmas Advent.

IT WAS NOT suddenly and unannounced that Jesus came into the world. He came into a world that had been prepared for him. The whole Old Testament is the story of a special preparation … . Only when all was ready, only in the fullness of his time, did Jesus come.

We also celebrated our December babies, namely Nat, Meifong, Lynnett and Wenxing (Tiff and Joel too). Heather also generously provided a Christmas logcake, which the CG heartily enjoyed. :)
