Games night at Pitstop Cafe! 19 June 09

We had a really crazy games night at Pitstop cafe last Friday! Quoting Chris: "How a simple board game can turn a group of serious working adults into a bunch of giggling competitive people!" 

The game session at the cafe was not enough for us and we went for round 2 at Grace & Dave's place with "Pictureka!" It was really fun and we didn't stopped till almost 1am! 

Thanks everyone for coming and especially Grace & Dave who opened up their place for us to hang out!

Gals nite out!

We had our gals nite out last Friday, 27 Mar 09, indulging in back or foot massages @ Wan Yang United Square and feasting on pratas, masala chicken, beehoon goreng, mutton soup, teh tarik, milo dinosaur etc @ The Roti Prata House in Thomson. Also, had a mini celebration for Jo and Nat's birthdays too.We had a good time catching up with one another as well.

Special thanks to Renzi for organizing the massage and sponsoring the pratas and Fannie for the cakes from Secret Recipe! It was indeed an awesome Gals Nite Out! =D

CG Pancake Party!

We had a real crazy pancake party on 27 Feb 09, special thanks to Jo for suggesting the idea in remembance of Lent. More information on why eat pancakes pre Lent as below:

It was really beautiful to watch the "body of Christ" in action as each one of us contributed a little to the night of fun. Every bit of contribution was important, even something as simple as playing in the Taboo game. I guess, this is just a teeny clue of how "heaven" may be like... It was also interesting to watch how a simple game of Taboo can transform a bunch of "serious" working adults into noisy "children" ribbing one another and just making noise for noise's sake.

"Kodak" moments of the night:

- Jiayee biting onto Zhenhui's fingers while biting a chunk of pancake

- Baby Claire prowling around like a hungry lion cub in search of unguarded pancakes.

- Fannie's excited body language when she saw "wonderbra" on the Taboo card.

- Rachel grabbing a cleaver to cut the cake after witnessing Zhenhui hacking helplessly at the cake with a tiny knife. (She's a woman of action)

- Zhenhui dutifully passing the Taboo cards whenever Renzi said "Skip" (Now I know who's the submissive one)

- Rachael breaking her plastic fork while trying to poke a pancake. (Now I know that lugging a guitar everywhere is better than going into a gym to pump iron)

- The looks of awe and admiration when Renzi shouted the answer "Impeachment" (Wow, this mother knows her politics, bible verses, can run a marathon and etc... I'm really impressed)

- Kevin choking on the toxic fumes from a made-in-china explosive candle (I bet none of his NS training had prepared him for china-made explosives.)

- Zhenhui asking our resident English expert Jo to speak, "English" so that she may be better understood. (Bro: she's the one speaking proper English, just that we don't understand her British accent) "

CNY Dinner 09!

We had our annual CNY CG reunion dinner on 23 Jan 09 at Alvin & Yanlin's place. It was a great turn out, everyone is stuffed up with food and we held an early birthday celebration for Alvin too! Great Yusheng, tasty steamboat, juicy grilled meats and yummy durian cake! Pictures below say it all!

Monthy CG outing! 18 July 08

We had our monthly 3rd Friday cg outing on 18 July 08 at New York New York citylink mall. Highlights of the dinner were adorable Claire =D and the surprise birthday celebration for Jiayun. The waitresses at NY NY belt out a lively birthday song with rattles and tambourine! haha!

People who turned up include Chris, Fannie, Heidi, Hongmei, Kevin, Lifen, Rentze, Zhenghui, baby Claire and of course birthday boy Jiayun.

We were treated to a sumptuous western meal and very nice candy floss! All of us had fun.

Chinese New Year Gathering 9 Feb 08

We had a wonderful CNY gathering at Alvin & Yanlin's place yesterday with the tradition Yu Sheng tossing, delicious grilled crayfish, salmon, clam chowder soup, fried chicken wings, sotong balls etc, almond longan desert and Viennetta ice cream!

Thanks so much to Alvin and Yanlin for opening up their house and preparing all the food for the gathering. Thanks also to Chris for the Yu Sheng from Sakae Sushi.

Last but not least, thanks to all who came! We are all truly blessed by your presence!

Settlers's Cafe this Friday, 21 Dec 07!

Hello cg mates,

Since Dec is a time of celebration, this Friday cg meeting will be a social event at the following:

Place: Settlers' Cafe, nearest MRT station: Clarke Quay
Time: 7.30-10.30pm (3hrs of fun and laughter!)
Cost: Depends on the value packages that day. Kevin and I are members too, so there'll be some discount. =)












For those who can meet earlier, Kevin is free to meet for dinner first. Please contact him.
We'll meet at Clark Quay MRT at 715pm then walk over together. Those who'd be late just go straight. Settlers serve food so you can eat there if you don't mind.

CG Social Gathering

Had our Social Gathering tonight (potluck). Great job to Hongmei for organising and co-ordinating all the dishes. We had a great spread, potato gratin (Suyin), toad-in-a-hole (Jo), otah (Chris), roast chicken (Tim), fried noodles/rice (Hongmei), drinks/dessert/finger foods (Heather). Had a nice, relaxing evening of food and fellowship with one another. Celebrated Dave's (and Nov babies) birthday with a chocolate brownie cake that Jeanie baked. A big hello to Jeanie's colleague, Miao Miao from Myanmar!

CG Social Gathering @ Craving Tots

Had a great time tonight @ our Social Gathering. Good set meal (soup, main course (Western/Italian), drink & yummy dessert (brownie with NZ Ice-cream). Went on with 2 games, Citadel & Taboo (S'porean style). Celebrated our August babes too, Hongmei, Heather and Yewya. Thank God for the new friends who came down to join us - Jo and Jiayun.

CG Lunch @ Central (Last Sunday for Xinhong)

Had a good time over lunch chatting and praying for Xinhong as she prepares to leave tomorrow afternoon for Perth, Australia - to finish up her Masters, fulfill her PR requirements and look for a job there eventually. All the best to you, Xinhong!

Farewell gathering for Xinhong

Had a surprise farewell gathering for Xinhong last Sunday. She will be leaving for Perth, Australia in July to complete her Masters and to find a job there thereafter. We spent some time to share what we were thankful about her, and for her to share with us some prayer needs and upcoming plans, before we took turns to commit her to God in prayer. We wish you all the best, Xinhong! You will be dearly missed.

CG Chinese New Year dinner

Had our CNY dinner @ Lois' place tonight. Thanks to her parents, especially Aunty Irene, for their hospitality and hard work all day preparing food for the scrumptious steamboat dinner. Glad to have some friends joining us tonight as well. Prayed for Zhen Yuan even as he prepares to enter into 3rd year of studies in Brisbane, leaving this Sunday night.
